The Country Music Festival was started in 1981 to raise funds to help to build a new ice arena in Lion's Head. The Festival is one of the most popular events on the Peninsula, and draws people from all over Southern Ontario and part of the United States.
Visitors come to hear the music country stars of another generation used to play. Gail Brinkman, one of the organizers calls it "Old-Time Country Music". The Community Center is transformed into a big virtual living room for music, dancing and socializing. The musical program begins on Saturday afternoon, and the local Lioness Club operates a Food Booth to ensure no one goes home hungry.

There is something for everyone at the Country Music Festival. The weekend starts with a Fish Dinner on Friday evening followed by a Free Jam Session. Breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday morning, is provided by the local Snowmobile Club. A Silent Auction is located in the Community Centre. For those who plan to spend the weekend at the Festival, there is a large area to accommodate motor homes and trailers.
For a unique and fun filled weekend, plan to take in the Country Music Festival in Lion's Head. You'll be glad you did.
