Lion's Head Quilt Show and Art Show

Homecoming Weekend July 30,31 - Aug. 1-2, 2010

Day One: Friday

Relax and enjoy the scenery as you make your way up to the Bruce Peninsula to the "Quilter's Inn B&B", where you will be staying for the next three nights. Be sure to arrive early so that you see some of the Quilt show before you check in, you have the evening free to take a stroll along the sand beach or go for a walk along the harbour that is filled with boats anchored for the night.

Day Two: Saturday

This morning, after a gourmet breakfast, you will be free to take a short hike on the Bruce Trail, browse through the shops and galleries, or take a short drive out into the country to enjoy the scenery in the area. Lunch will be at "Marydales".

Your afternoon begins at the Quilt Show at the Rotary Hall. This show features a spectacular display of quilts made by local crafters and is something you are sure to enjoy and admire. Free admission.  You can also participate in the mini quilt draw that will benefit your local hospital.

The Art Show at the High School is another impressive feature of the weekend. This is an amazing display, showcasing the talents of local and area artists, and a great opportunity to purchase that special piece of Art that you have always wanted. Free. Donations accepted.

This evening, you have a choice of going to Marydales or The Lion's Head Inn of dinner. A Street Dance tonight on Main Street with a Live Band will complete the day's activities.

Day Three: Sunday

Sunday is a day of reflection.  If you were motivated by the quilt show you may want to browse through the selection at Greig's Fabrics.  The store is open Sundays in July and August for your shopping pleasure.

There are a number of activities available today, the Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast, Sand Sculpturing and a Horseshoe Tournament. Hot Dogs and hamburgers will be available at the Beach. You may want to revisit the Art Show this afternoon. You have a choice of restaurants for dinner this evening. A Fireworks Display at Lion's Head Beach Park will complete the weekend events, leaving you with great memories of a Homecoming Weekend in Lion's Head.
