No summer visit to Kincardine would be complete without walking down Queen Street following the world famous Kincadine Scottish Pipe Band Parade on Saturday evenings.
The pipe band begins weekly parades in late June - they are as much a part of summer in Kincardine as are sunshine and sparking water.
The band forms up at Victoria Park at 8 pm and follows Queen Street (the main street thought downtown) to Quinn Plaza then returns back to the park where a short concert is held. Visiting pipers and drummers are encourage to take part in this unique Kincardine Tradition that entertains visitors and residents alike!
Over the years, the parades and concerts have given thousands of people the opportunity to know and love Kincardine, Many of these people have returned year after year, as children, parents and grandparents. The pipe band is one of the largest in the province, boasting more than 60 members. It a charitable organization and concentrates on teaching new members to carry on the tradition of the Saturday night parades and the Phantom Piper.
