The Cozy Cottage is a charming waterfront cottage that boasts original pine floors and a stunning stone fireplace and mantle.

The serenity of the cottage, its spacious grounds and gorgeous scenery make it a perfect get-away from city life and yet it is only 3 kilometers from town – and its shops, galleries and restaurants.

Enjoy sipping your morning coffee on the lake-side deck, basking in the sun in an almost bug-free environment. Ride your bicycle along a country road that meanders along the shore line. Or spend the afternoon swinging in the hammock.

You’ll be dazzled by the gorgeous clear waters of Lake Huron and Hay Bay. If you like canoeing or kayaking, the shallow waters of Hay Bay are the perfect place to paddle. Daily rentals are available from Thorncrest Outfitters and they can be delivered.

This is the perfect family cottage: it features a small private peninsula, where comfortable benches and stone tables face west, south and east - providing guests with both excellent water view and access.

Kids love our 45 year old mascot, the “Grey-Bruce Goose” and, since we are located close to a habitat, the sound of frogs, seagulls and loons will definitely charm them. They’ll see blue herons standing in the water looking for fish and Canada Geese swimming past with wee goslings in tow.

Cozy Cottage comfortably sleeps six persons in three bedrooms and has a wonderful family-oriented character. We are also a great location for retirees and those who love nature.

We’ve created a great fire pit area for evening campfires with seating for six; wood and kindling are provided. Sunsets on Lake Huron are magnificent and the sight of millions of stars will astound you.

Muffins anyone? Pick a morning to be pampered! Savour the flavour of home-made banana muffins or perhaps blueberry muffins with crumble topping, delivered to your door. This tradition is a favorite with ALL our guests!

We believe in keeping Cozy Cottage very clean and well-maintained. In 2008, we insulated the cottage, replaced the roof, added new siding and installed 17 new windows. The cottage is cleaned by the owners personally before your arrival and a full array of supplies are on-hand. Guests are welcome to water the flowers and fill the bird feeder during their stay.

For your privacy, all our windows and doors have blinds and/or curtains. We have a water softener unit and UV filter; the cottage water comes from a proper well. If anything breaks during your visit we’ll respond immediately and take care of the problem in an efficient manner.

All our beds have warm blankets, pillows and beautiful quilts adorn each one.Guests bring their own linens and towels; a helpful list of ‘things to bring’ is e-mailed prior to your arrival.

With two TV’s, a full compliment of StarChoice channels, games, books and over 100 movies on-hand, you’ll be comfortable and pampered in this bright, spacious, well-appointed cottage.
