Chi-Cheemaun Festival Weekend in Tobermory
June 18-20
Day One-Friday:
Your accommodations for the weekend will be at the Bruce Anchor Motel. After check-in, make your way over to the ball field where the J.P. Johnstone Memorial Ball Tournament will be underway. A beer garden and food booth are located nearby for refreshments while you watch the games. A fireworks display rounds out the evening.
Day Two-Saturday:
The Firemen's Pancake Breakfast (pay locally $5.00 pp) gets the day off to a good start. Saturday events include the Ball Tournament, an Antique and Classic Car Display, Children's Events, a Silent Auction and the Beer Garden and Food Booth. In the afternoon take a cruise to Manitoulin Island on the "Chi-cheemaun" (pay locally $13.75 pp) and be back in time for a fish dinner (pay locally $12.00 Adult, $7.00 for kids 12 and under)
Day Three-Sunday:
Breakfast will be at Leeside Restaurant and Patio Bar, just a short walk from your Motel. Todays events include an Ecumenical Church Service, Golf at Cornerstone Golf Club, and the final games of the Ball Tournament. You also have a choice of taking a cruise on the Glass Bottom Boat, visiting the Lighthouse at Big Tub or you may prefer to browse through the shops and galleries that line the harbour. Drop in to The Trading Post where they have a wide selection of moccasins for all family. If you are looking for that special gift, The Hummingbird Shoppe has unique items for the home or cottage. Before leaving for home stop in at The Sweet Shop for Ice Cream and be sure to pick up some Fudge and Peanut Brittle to take back with you.
